Vice President of African Cashew Alliance (ACA)
Wayne Tilton is Red River Food’s Director of Operations in Africa, served as an Executive Board Member for the African Cashew Alliance (ACA) in 2012, the current Vice President of the ACA’s Executive Board, a board member to ComCashew, a former Peace Corps volunteer and the founder of Peace Corps Ghana Cashew Initiative (PCGCI).
Under his direction, Red River Foods is working with US Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) to educate farmers in better farming practices and basic business skills; offers seedlings distribution, bee-keeping and chainsaw training programs to increase yield; and most recently, RCN commission program to help a remote cashew village in Northern Ghana to build a health clinic.
As a certified Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI), Wayne has toured most cashew factories in Africa. He is instrumental to processors meeting the USDA Food Safety Standards.
From almost ten years of living and working in the heart of cashew region in Ghana, Wayne has a deep understanding of the economic and agronomic challenges facing African cashew farmers, processors and buyers.
